Generally speaking, we do not work with ready-made WordPress themes. While we can certainly understand their appeal, customizing them can often be a much more complicated task than one would think. In some cases the costs can rival that of having a from-scratch custom design.

In almost every case, we build our websites with premium themes because of the extra utilities that come bundled with them as well as their time-tested stability and developer support. As a result, we create amazing custom built WordPress website designs.

In most cases, I have to review the website in detail and I do not provide maintenance for websites that I haven’t personally designed and developed. However, I can review the site for you and make a final decision once I have more details.
The following are examples of Ecommerce:

1) Online Shopping
Buying and selling goods on the Internet is one of the most popular examples of ecommerce. Sellers create storefronts that are the online equivalents of retail outlets. Buyers browse and purchase products with mouse clicks. Though Amazon.com is not the pioneer of online shopping, it is arguably the most famous online shopping destination.

2) Electronic Payments
When you are buying goods online, there needs to be a mechanism to pay online too. That is where payment processors and payment gateways come into the picture. Electronic payments reduce the inefficiency associated with writing and mailing checks. It also does away with many of the safety issues that arise due to payment made in currency notes.

3) Online Auctions
When you think online auction, you think eBay. Physical auctions predate online auctions, but the Internet made auctions accessible to a large number of buyers and sellers. Online auctions are an efficient mechanism for price discovery. Many buyers find the auction shopping mechanism much interesting than regular storefront shopping.

4) Internet Banking
Today it is possible for you to perform the entire gamut of banking operations without visiting a physical bank branch. Interfacing of websites with bank accounts, and by extension credit cards, was the biggest driver of ecommerce.

5) Online Ticketing
Air tickets, movie tickets, train tickets, play tickets, tickets to sporting events, and just about any kind of tickets can be booked online. Online ticketing does away with the need to queue up at ticket counters.

Our mission is to build you the best and most cost effective website for your business. A professionally built website can promote your products and services, enhance your online presence, your product image, and generate sales. With that in mind, we will carefully research your business needs and plan a strategy to create the ideal web solution.

Initial Consultation
All our services begin with a free initial consultation to determine your requirements. Our experienced business analyst works closely with you to determine your exact needs and desires, and will complete a detailed design worksheet itemizing all your requirements. This helps us gather information about your company, services, audience, purpose, site goals, and more.

The consultation step is very important because we are committed to providing you with solutions that will work for you, not for us! We prefer to communicate by phone for faster service, but emails are okay too.

Proposal & Paperwork

After you are confident we have addressed all your ideas, questions, and requirements, you will receive specific recommendations for your project. There are many different ways to meet your specific needs. We explain these options with the proposed pricing to deliver them. Once you agree, you receive a formal proposal that contains all of the work you require, prices and payment schedule, and contract.

Payments
We require a 50% deposit to start work once we receive a signed contract.  After “you agree”, “we agree” and paperwork is signed and faxed or mailed to us, we start the actual design process. If you do not understand the smallest of points at this step PLEASE ASK FOR CLARIFICATION.  At any time please contact us about any concerns, questions or comments you have about your project.

Collecting Your Content
You will provide us with the text and any other content for your website and any specific images you would like. We can provide you with access to hundreds of royalty free stock photos and graphics.  We also recommend fee-based Shutterstock as a media resource.  For content, we offer optional writing services at an hourly rate.

Design Development
We ask you to provide examples of websites you really like, colors you like, and a list of your competitors’ websites, if possible. If you want, you can also have a look at our past work and let us know any website elements you liked and we can incorporate the same for your website. We can also provide you with access to professional high quality template designs from Oxygenne and Theme X, and you can choose the one you like. Once you provide that information to us, usually within 2 working days, we will provide you with a creative “mockup” of what your website will look like when it’s completed.  At this stage, we will work closely with you to develop a look that will be both visually pleasing and user-friendly.

Design Selection & Finalization
After the initial “mockup”, you will review it on our server or on your actual URL.  If we work directly with your host provider, we recommend an Under Construction First Page, for any visitors.  If we work on our server, we send you a web link to view the “mockup” and ask if you would like any changes.  This is the time for you to process our interpretation of what you want.  You request revisions as necessary and then you provide final approval.

Web Development
After receiving your final approval on the “mockup”, we will then begin building the website and web pages, incorporating the design and all of the content that you provided.

Pre-launch Evaluation
After the site is built, you will be able to view all pages to make sure everything is exactly how you want it. You will submit any desired changes to the copy and then give final approval before the site goes live.

Launching Your Website
After final approval and payment has been received, your website will be published on your domain, and it will be live for all the world to see.

We can register your domain name and host your website too – so you don’t have to worry about the technical aspects of your website.  We become your one stop shop for your online web presence.

Ongoing Support
After your website is launched, we will work with you to establish a regular review and maintenance schedule of your web site to accommodate your requests, user feedback, feature updates and any new emerging web technologies.

Post production support and service is additional at an hourly rate of $95/hour.

Due to the high level of customized work and the collaborative process involved in each website we build, it’s difficult to predict an exact turn around time. We will work together with you to complete the web design project in a timely manner.

Please note that any milestone that requires your action, such as your approval of design mock-ups or web design changes and is not acknowledged on time, will directly affect the time frame.

Our goal is to complete, as an example, a five-page website within 4 weeks after we’ve received all content and feedback from you and we recommend that as a safe estimate.

Our goal is to deliver on time all the time.

Our goal is to provide a high quality, professional web design service to all of our clients.

WordPress is a free and open source blogging tool and content management system (CMS) powered by PHP and MySQL. It has many features including a plug-in architecture and a template system.

A WordPress Theme is a collection of files that work together to produce a graphical interface with an underlying unifying design for a website. These files are called template files. A Theme modifies the way the site is displayed, without modifying the underlying software.

You can choose from over a thousand free themes from the WordPress Theme Directory or invest in a premium, or paid themes like ThemeCo’s Theme X.

A premium WordPress theme is a high-quality, feature-rich, search engine optimized WordPress web template built for customers who want a polished design.

Westside Virtual has extensive experience working with ThemeCo’s Theme X. You can see more of what ThemeCo’s X Theme is capable of here.

The advantages of premium themes are like those of premium plugins. Premium themes usually have a reliable code base and offer support if something goes wrong.

Some premium themes, like ThemeCo’s X, operate more like web design software, allowing designers like Westside Virtual to build your own theme designs and page layouts.

Premium themes can run anywhere from $19 to $100 and come with a license that you will own, unless you cede, in writing, ownership to Westside Virtual, Inc. Unless otherwise noted, a purchased theme includes a one-year membership subscription to downloads, updates and support from the company that the theme was purchased from. This means you get immediate access to all new versions and features released for your product(s) during your subscription year, plus ticketed support from the theme’s Help Desk. The membership model is how companies provide top-tier support, maintain their products as WordPress updates it’s own prioducts, and to provide continued development for new versions and features. After the one-year mark, your theme or plugin is still yours to use and keep, but we recommend renewing your subscription to have continued access to downloads, support, updates and new features.

The front end is responsible for collecting input in various forms from the user and processing it to conform to a specification the back end can use. The front end is an interface between the user and the back end.
