Case Studies

Our case studies explore the key phases during the project development lifecycle of some of our select clients from our in-depth conversations and explorations of their business requirements to the launch of their new site into production.  Each case study presents our successful development processes and how we discover the best user experience for your visitors.  Have a look at the solutions Westside Virtual has accomplished for some of our clients.

The Survivor Mitzvah Project

The Survivor Mitzvah Project is an international humanitarian effort providing direct financial aid to elderly Holocaust Survivors in remote areas of Eastern Europe and Ukraine. They are in desperate need of food, medicine, suitable shelter, and some loving kindness.

Westside Virtual partnered with The Survivor Mitzvah Project (SMP) in the fall of 2020 to improve the visual consistency of their website, provide measurable improvements for donations, and allow the SMP team to have better content management control throughout their website.

Case Study

For the first 3-months we focused on storytelling layouts to create improvements to the user’s visual experience and then we took everything we learned and applied it to a completely redesigned website that:

  • Is better aligned with The Survivor Mitzvah Project’s humanitarian message and brand
  • Has improved Donation activity
  • Has dramatically improved the User Experience with in-depth storytelling
  • Is faster than the previous website

43rd Street Kids Preschool

43rd Street Kids Preschool, Inc. is a progressive, non-profit, parent cooperative, licensed by NYC and has been providing quality programs, at affordable prices, to the Manhattan community for over 30 years.

Case Study

43rd Street Kids Preschool approached Westside Virtual to inquire about a fresh new website design.  The preschool has had a website presence for the school for some time, but the current site was not achieving some of their business objectives.  They were seeking to update and improve the site’s front-end so that it has a better look, a modern look, is more user friendly and more visually appealing.

The new website needed to meet modern users’ technological expectations, including mobile friendliness and audience appeal.  In addition, the site structure and design need to reflect the depth of content and resources offered, the key content and resources available on the site to be easily accessible or findable, and a website that functioned as a powerful marketing tool to attract new customers and position itself as a leader in the Manhattan preschool niche.

Have a look at how a fresh new website helped 43rd Street Kids Preschool increase their enrollment roster.

Brandgrowth is the brain child of branding and marketing guru, Fred Reffsin.

Fred Reffsin did not have a website for his company, Brandgrowth, and he felt, as a marketing expert, he needed an online presence.

After a series of in-depth consultations, we captured Fred’s urban and disruptive approach to branding and marketing through a series of jaw-dropping photography, imagery, enhanced content, bold colors and typography that bursts with color and attitude. The Rockwell Group

The Rockwell Group is an international architecture and design firm. Founded by David Rockwell, FAIA, and led by David and partners Shawn Sullivan and Greg Keffer, the 250-person firm merges performance and architecture to create extraordinary experiences and built environments across the globe.

Case Study

Westside Virtual has had two successful engagements with The Rockwell Group. On our first engagement, we were asked to audit their Human Resources intranet which was rendering employee data improperly. We performed a comprehensive audit and uncovered several root causes.  We delivered our results in a series of reports and spreadsheets.  Some months later, we were contacted for our second engagement to completely rebuild the site from scratch.

The new site is built on top of a BuddyPress framework and the WordPress back end is entirely customized for the administrators, including a branded login page.

We delivered the intranet website that The Rockwell Group wanted – a dependable, stable and more agile intranet for its employees.

Within the new intranet, there is an Employee Knowledge Base, an Employee Directory with names and phone numbers, a Library of book titles, links to external Architectural magazines, a Public Relations Media slideshow, customized keyword searches using Ajax, a custom Admin interface, custom post types, a mega menu, customized User Roles, and a custom Font Set to match Rockwell Group’s corporate identity.
