Typically, our project estimates for new WordPress websites fall into the tiers outlined below.
Basic: $1,000-$3,000, typically 3-6 pages, a straightforward project with no special functionality
Not-So Basic: $3,000-$5,000, typically 6-12 pages and special functionality on the backend of the website to accommodate a company-specific order tracking program, for example.
Far From Basic: $5,000+, typically 12-24+ pages, all the bells and whistles, a robust web design project with a tailor-made design solution, including company-wide solutions for all the web and design problems.
For WordPress content edits we charge a rate of $75 an hour.
We provide you with an accurate price after getting all the details of your project.
Since we are not a web hosting company, we are not responsible for web hosting fees and renewals, web domain registration fees and renewals, SSL certificates and renewals, etc.

All our services begin with a free initial consultation to determine your requirements. Our experienced business analyst works closely with you to determine your exact needs and desires, and will complete a detailed design worksheet itemizing all your requirements. This helps us gather information about your company, services, audience, purpose, site goals, and more.
The consultation step is very important because we are committed to providing you with solutions that will work for you, not for us! We prefer to communicate by phone for faster service, but emails are okay too.
Proposal & Paperwork
After you are confident we have addressed all your ideas, questions, and requirements, you will receive specific recommendations for your project. There are many different ways to meet your specific needs. We explain these options with the proposed pricing to deliver them. Once you agree, you receive a formal proposal that contains all of the work you require, prices and payment schedule, and contract.
We require a 50 percent deposit to start work once we receive a signed contract. After “you agree”, “we agree” and paperwork is signed and faxed or mailed to us, we start the actual design process. If you do not understand the smallest of points at this step PLEASE ASK FOR CLARIFICATION. At any time please contact us about any concerns, questions or comments you have about your project.
Collecting Your Content
You will provide us with the text and any other content for your website and any specific images you would like. We can provide you with access to hundreds of royalty free stock photos and graphics. We also recommend fee-based Shutterstock, as a media resource. For content, we offer optional writing services at an hourly rate.
We ask you to provide examples of websites you really like, colors you like, and a list of your competitors’ websites, if possible. If you want, you can also have a look at our past work and let us know any website elements you liked and we can incorporate the same for your website. We can also provide you with access to professional high quality template designs from Oxygenne and Theme X, and you can choose the one you like. Once you provide that information to us, usually within 2 working days, we will provide you with a creative “mockup” of what your website will look like when it’s completed. At this stage, we will work closely with you to develop a look that will be both visually pleasing and user-friendly.
Design Selection & Finalization
After the initial “mockup”, you will review it on our server or on your actual URL. If we work directly with your host provider, we recommend an Under Construction First Page, for any visitors. If we work on our server, we send you a web link to view the “mockup” and ask if you would like any changes. This is the time for you to process our interpretation of what you want. You request revisions as necessary and then you provide final approval.
After receiving your final approval on the “mockup”, we will then begin building the website and web pages, incorporating the design and all of the content that you provided.
After the site is built, you will be able to view all pages to make sure everything is exactly how you want it. You will submit any desired changes to the copy and then give final approval before the site goes live.
Launching Your Website
After final approval and payment has been received, your website will be published on your domain, and it will be live for all the world to see.
We can register your domain name and host your website, too, so you don’t have to worry about the technical aspects of your website. We become your one stop shop for your online web presence.
After your website is launched, we will work with you to establish a regular review and maintenance schedule of your web site to accommodate your requests, user feedback, feature updates and any new emerging web technologies.
Post-production support and service is additional at an hourly rate of $95/hour.
Yes, but with some limitation. We work with Premium WordPress Themes that have been vetted by the WordPress Open Source community, and we can customize premium templates with edits, updates and changes – on the front-end only.
Generally speaking, we will not work with older WordPress Themes that have been neglected by their authors or have not been updated by their developers to work with the latest versions of WordPress.
While we can certainly understand their appeal, customizing them can often be a much more complicated task than one would think and in some cases the costs can rival that of having a from-scratch custom design.
In almost every case, we build our websites with premium WordPress themes because of the extra utilities that come bundled with them, as well as their time-tested stability and developer support.
In most cases we will want to review the website in detail before making a decision. In order to move forward, we offer a Website Evaluation Audit where we can review the site, assess the back-end CMS framework, make recommendations and suggestions – for a fixed four-hour fee starting at $499. We make a final decision once we have more details.
We welcome clients who are looking for a long term relationship with a dedicated website design company.
To see if we are a good match, we first like to do a Website Evaluation to become familiar with your website, how it was built and any potential issues that can arise.
With the Website Evaluation we will perform all the “Website Updates” tasks and make a full backup. Most importantly we will make a list of issues to fix and suggestions for improvement needed in order to more forward in our engagement process.
Our Website Evaluation Audit starts at a fixed 4-hour fee of $499.

After we mutually agree to work and sign the paperwork, we will invoice you by email and provide you with a secure, simple and easy way to make electronic payments by ACH, credit card, or other.
Some people ask us, “Why does it take 3-4 weeks? Another company said they’ll have my website done in 2 days?”
We hear this question a lot, but there’s a simple answer:
Exact turnaround time varies based on multiple factors such as the complexity of your project’s requirements and needs; the quality of information you provide to us in your creative brief and our own project calendar. We take clients on a first-come, first-serve basis. As a general rule, we say the the preliminary design will be complete and ready for you to review within 4 weeks.
All of our websites are customized, unique, and based on in-depth conversations we have with you throughout the design phase about your vision, your mission, your product, and your goals.
Building something of quality that is unique to your specific taste and requirements takes time. Anyone who promises to finish your site in a couple of days is not building you a custom website – they are simply cloning a website that’s already built and are just changing the colors, phone number and logo.
Please note that any milestone that requires your action, such as your approval for design mock-ups or web design changes, and is not acknowledged on time, will directly affect the time frame.
Our goal is to complete your website within four weeks after we’ve received all content and feedback from you, It’s a safe estimate because we strive to deliver on time all the time.

Monthly maintenance customers are free to cancel at any time. If you cancel your service within 24 hours of your renewal date, we will refund that month in full. Anytime after that and your monthly fee is non-refundable.
Customers who have annual plans may request a pro-rated refund within 60 days of renewal date. After 60 days, all annual plans are non-refundable.
All setup fees are non-refundable.
Westside Virtual reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.
Westside Virtual may cancel any plan with written notice of at least 10 days prior subscription renewal for monthly plans and 30 days prior to subscription renewal for annual plans.

Refund requests must be in writing.
The client is responsible for writing the content/copy/text for the website. If you need content-writing assistance, we are happy to send you a new proposal where our rate is $95/hour or $25 for first 250 words per page, additional words at $0.10 cents per word.
We also partner with content writers if needed and those prices may vary from what is mentioned above.
Yes, we offer live remote training. The sessions typically last one hour during which time we’ll go over the basics of WordPress and the details of updating your website.

The advantages of premium themes are like those of premium plugins. Premium themes usually have a reliable code base and offer support if something goes wrong.
Some premium themes operate more like web design software, allowing designers like Westside Virtual to design unique one-of-a-kind page layouts.
Premium themes can run anywhere from $19 to $100 and come with a license. If we buy the license, we own the license ONLY because the WordPress community has not engaged in license transfers. No one took it on and WordPress just washed their hands of the whole deal so its up to the designers and the clients to figure it out.
The client is responsible for payment of the renewal of the support every year.
Unless otherwise noted, a purchased theme includes a six-month or one-year membership subscription to downloads, updates and support from the company that the theme was purchased from. This means you get immediate access to all new versions and features released for your product(s) during your subscription year, plus ticketed support from the theme’s Help Desk.
The membership model is how companies provide top-tier support, maintain their products as WordPress updates it’s own products, and to provide continued development for new versions and features. After the one-year mark, your theme or plugin is still yours to use and keep, but we recommend renewing your subscription to have continued access to downloads, support, updates and new features.
